2025 Turf Dealers Meeting

Welcome

COMPO EXPERT welcomed over 50 delegates to the UK for our 2025 Turf Dealers Event. The week was packed with educational seminars from guest speakers and experts from the COMPO EXPERT team.

The event was created to bring all the dealers from across the UK and Europe together and for us COMPO EXPERT to showcase our brand and business structure aiming to support all dealers better than ever before. The event was held across two venues. The first venue starting on the Wednesday was at the British Open Qualifier venue, Caldy GC set in the stunning cliff tops of the Wirral over looking the estuary. Day two was held at the stunning abode hotel, Chester.

All guests stayed at the luxurious abode hotel, Chester overlooking the famous Chester Racecourse built within the historical romans walls of Chester. Evening entertainment at the Chester Grosvenor Hotel, Abode Hotel Restaurant and Hickory's by the river provided some fun, laughter and no doubt engaging business conversations.

Day One

Day one kicked off at the stunning British Open Qualifier event, Caldy GC with COMPO EXPERT UK Managing Director Gerald Bonner opening the event, giving the guests an understanding of why this event was being held and reiterating the importance of the turf market as whole and to our dealers.

Presenters & Presentations

Matthew Williams showcased our new dedicated Fine & Sports Turf Brochure with new marketing of categories that relate to our turf managers and industry.

Dr Mauricio presented “Product Concept to Product Launch” highlighting the processes of developing a new product and all the work that goes into then launching a product.

Dr Fritz Lord – Global Head of Turf was next up, discussing “NEW Product Pipelines” highlight NEW innovative and agronomically beneficial products backed by trials and research.

Jens Werner – Head of IT introduced our newly launched software platform called TurfHub. Jens highlighted the features and functions that both dealers and greenkeepers can take advantage of such as creating your own set of Key Performance Indicators ensuring the systems works for you.

Our first guest speaker Ed Pettit – MD of Carr Golf discussed the most talked about current topic of “The Challenges of Diminishing PPP”. Ed showcased the changes he and his team had to make during times of product being unavilble as well as how they manage, asses and record data everyday in effort to produce the highest standards possible across every golf course they manage. A fascinating and intriguing presentation with lots of beneficial information for everyone to digest and take home.

Caldy GC Course Walk

The event ended with a tour of the Golf Course and Maintenance department with Course Manager Carl Croacher and First Assistant - Paul Gater. Guests walked around the golf course taking in the stunning views and the magnificent golf course conditions with Carl educating everyone about the maintenance practises, projects and challenges they have faced during the last 12 months.

Our first day ended with a evening meal, drinks reception on the top floor of the abode hotel, overlooking the city of Chester and the Racecourse.

Day Two

Day two was held in the conference room at the stunning abode hotel, Chester overlooking the famous Chester racecourse. An early start for an early finish as we had a stadium tour of the premier league champions Liverpool FC in the afternoon.

To open day two Dr Thomas Leppin – Head of International Marketing dialed in from Germany via Microsoft Teams to discus “Regulatory Updates FPR & EBIC” (need to put something in here)

Dr Lukas John - Sustainability Manager was next up to discuss “Sustainability Improvements” highlighting the important work that COMPO EXPERT had taken to improve many areas of business such as:

Reduction in CO2
Introduction of NEW sustainability icons for all products
Sports turf focused sustainability benefits

Following a tea and coffee break our next guest speaker Head of Agrovista Amenity, John Marland presented “ Dealers Reflections. Past, Present & Future” focusing on the importance human interaction and highlighting some key technologies for the future.

Our last but by no means least guest speaker was Troon Vice President of Agronomy, Simon Doyle. Simon presented how he and his global team “Deliver Tournament Golf Agronomy” showcasing all the effort and hardwork that goes into creating pristine conditions day in, day out across the world.

Dr Mauricio Hunsche - Head of Research & Development presented turf trials undertaken throughout 2024/2025 highlighting key fertiliser technology and benefits to healthy plant growth.

Dr Fritz Lord - Global Head of Turf presented "New Research Impacting Turf" from multiple sources across Europe. Extremely interesting data and findings were presented delighting the delegates with new product findings.
